Default Should I atempt?

Ok fellas...

I recently purchased...

Pacesetter Headers (NO Cats)
Pacesetter ORY
PP Typoon Intake Manifold 85mm
PP Throttle Body 85mm
XR-1 Bullet Muffler. ( I have LM2)

Should I install all of this myself? Im pretty handy dont get me wrong. We have installed tons of car audio and recently have put headers on 3 GTOs. Im by no means a "gearhead" but would love to try unless its a bad idea.

Im also going to be removing the AIR and EGR systems.

Any tips? Or suggestions?

do it your self, no need to pay a shop hundreds for something you can do and have fun doing. friends and booze are a necessary combination for a good install.

get the car safely as high as you can for the headers, helps alot. there are a few writeups on here that will go step by step with you on everything you plan to install.

Intake and throttle body, I would say is a peice of cake, I have however heard of some nightmare stories on getting the gaskets lined up on the PP versions, not sure if they changed or modified that at all since.

Exhaust is a bitch to do without a hoist but not entirely impossible.

I voted to do it yourself with friends, but if no one shows up, you really only need help for a few minutes. I asked my wife to catch the headers when I handed them up to her from the bottom.

Having friends help, never hurts, IF you had no choice I would still suggest doing it yourself but hey, get the help when you can.

As for the intake, on a Fbody, use 1-1/2" tubing for the rear intake bolts, they hit the cowl and have a friend help with the removal, you WILL NOT break the oil psi sensor if you take your time. If you do it alone, there stand a good chance of ******* it up.

I installed all of that stuff on my own. It was pretty easy and straight forward. I am 1 hour away from you. If you want some help let me know. I am more than willing to come out and help you out on the install.

I dont see any reason why you couldnt do it yourself. Save money and gain the experience yourself.

Get a couple of friends to help you out and it shouldn't be a problem. There's even a guy in here that's done it before and is willing to help you out, take advantage of his experience.

Do it yourself, I did, it's an experience.

Header studs would make the job alot easer. Don't forget to do plugs and wires as well.

Do it yourself, save some cash, and throw some new valve cover gaskets and a thermostat, and spark plugs in while your at it. Its a good time to tackle these areas when everythings off and out of the way.

Say No To Welding!

And yes you can do all that stuff without a helper if you need to but obviously it's easier with a friend lending a hand.
