Has anyone had this happen to there headers?
Hooker headers told me they have never seen or heard of this before.
These are the expensive Hooker headers that have the ceramic coating.
They are only about 2 1/2 years old.
The AIR tube that was on the pass. side just popped off the other day when i had took off.
Even though they only have a 30 day warrenty i would think this was a defective weld (maybe the heat on the welding machine was too high) that the weld made the header weak and caused this to fail.
I would have though that they would have at least gave me a good reason as to why it happend but all they said was basicaly that i'm screwed.
I really don't think that i'm ever going to buy there name brand again...... and maybe even Holley......

I've seen posts about that happening to virtually every header brand out there that has been out for a couple of years. When you put a blockoff plate on AIR/EGR fitted headers, that area becomes a weak link. A lot of pressure builds up in those spots and eventually, the welds give way. That's the problem with T-304 stainless steel. It suffers from weld fatigue. The XS/LPP headers made of T-321 stainless would resist this a little better, but I've seen the fittings fall off the old XS headers, too, so even that's not perfect!
Only thing you can do is take it to a shop and have it welded closed. Either that or buy a whole new set of headers. If you go that route, make sure you buy race headers this time around. I wish I got race headers and not emissions style. I'm kicking myself for paying more for a weak link

I plan on doing just that today here at the house. I have already made a piece to weld to it. Just looks like a real pain in the *** to get to!
Will all my sensors be ok if i just weld it with it still bolted to the engine?
Also all the sparks make me a little nervious.
