The only reason for getting bolt ons is not having access to a welder. You can always weld them in later.

Plenty of opinions here. Most say weld on.

I would go weld on if you have access to a welder or a capable shop. As said before bolt on will work for the time being until you can get them welded

weld em. there is a huuuuge thread about this in the chassis area.. most say weld. i spent about 8 hours puttin in my BMR's about 3 weeks ago and did them "right".. i was very careful and my welds look great if i do say so myself..

not to mention, they may have saved my life and more importantly my car yesterday when i got completely sideways at 90mph avoiding some riced out piece of **** that decided to leave its fart pipe/mid pipe assembly layin across the free way. i survived.. with only a few scratches. i was lucky. the reason i say they helped is, in spite of a few nay sayers claiming they do nothing or almost nothing for handling.. they stiffened my car up alot.. the handling difference is very noticable in my application.. in my opinion they helped me regain control of my car.

Weld is stronger. But I have a welder and I can weld and haven't fealt the need to weld in my SLP bolt ons. So they are still bolted in and are fine. If you weld you will also have to paint or do something for rust protection. A can of krylon won't cut it.

Weld in for sure, like the others said if you bolt them in your self then take them to a muffler shop and have them throw a bead on them it will save you alot of money over taking it to a shop to have them completely installed. Mine cost me $30 to have my local muffler shop weld them in. I prepped the area though, cleaned off paint ect.
