Default stock bottom end limits

I have been reading threads from a search over the past few days and keep getting sidetracked by cam threads, haha.

Here is my question, roughly what are the stock bottom end power limits? I understand there are variances in type of power, etc and that the 01-02 have tighter tolerances or something with some kind of beefier bolts on the rod ends or something?

Anywho what is the range of the stock bottem end limits?

Many people have taken the stock bottom end to 550 rwhp with out any problems. Just make sure you have a safe tune for it.

I've heard the later gen 3 blocks have stronger internals as well. Anybody know for sure which are more reliable? I'm looking for 550 RWHP FI on my stock 2000 bottom end (ported ls6 oil pump, double row chain, comp lifters, comp PRs, top end ect...).

from the shops that i have talked to 500 rwhp is the highest and safest area to be around. The guys who have more than that are FI and there are always debates that FI destroys stock bottom ends. Every block is different and every driver has different habbits but i would go with the pros that work on these all day long. And they usually tell you 500 is your limit.

Well I am ending up having to replace the entire hydraulic system and am wanting to plan a clutch around the stock bottem end because I have no plans on touching that at all.

Not being forged with forced induction or high compression is sort of like not wearing a condom in a whorehouse... you might get away with it.

my 01 ss was making 550 rwhp with no problems. That was bolt ons cam spray. From what I have seen down here most stock bottom ends will handle in the 600-650 range.

I have seen many a stock bottom end hold up with 600+ HP FI...

If the tune is right, and the driver is not overly abusive, there is no reason why it should not hold up for a long time.

500-RW can be done NA, very safely, and for a long time...

The 01-02's have better rod bolts so you can turn them up a little higher without the RB's stretching and spinning a bearing. As stated the TUNE and DRIVING STYLE is the key to how durable a 500+ rwhp motor will because of the stock hyperteutic pistons and the # 7 issue. I will be forged for sure when I get 500+ rwhp. Saving for that HKE stroker as we speak....

My friend's WS6 makes 637RWHP on the stock bottom end with 125,000 miles. I think every motor is different, and it needs a tune that suits the mods correctly.

not doing boost, will be N/A and possibly spray every now and then. I know the N/A will be less than 500rwhp, but the spray would obviously put it over the top, thanks for all the suggestions guys

So having a bone stock LS1 supercharged, running no more then 500rwhp will still be considered in the safe zone?
