Default Pull Motor or Not?...

I was thinking about pulling motor out the top of car my buddy says he did it with his just pulled intake and vavle covers............I got to do a cam swap, Clutch and Flywheel, Rear Main seal, Oil Pan Gasket....

is this worth pulling motor I dont wanna pull the heads to do Cam swap and if motor was out I could Flip Engine upside down on Motor stand and not worry about the lifters falling I guess thats the up side to pulling it and not haven a lift would keeop me off my back...

props to you

I would pull the engine if I were you because you are replacing the oil pan gasket. To get to the oil pan you have to remove the cross member and you can avoid doing that by pulling the motor out. Correct me if I'm wrong.

FYI: I believe the lifters can be kept in place with a tool that slips into the block. Or you could just cross your fingers and hope the lifters don't slip out of the retainers (not recommended!).

Dont waste your money on the tool for the lifters just go to the good ol home depot and get some 5/16" wood dowels they work just as good as the tools, i used them on my car when doing my cam swap

I would pull it if your doing all that, the clutch and oil pan is so much easier when pulled.

And it wouldnt be too hard to drop it out, 6 k member bolts and 4 transmission mount bolts, and disconnecting you coolant lines and ac lines and its ready to drop out.. When i get around to doing heads cam and intake that will seriously cross my mind.
