Did you have it dyno tuned?

I'm tellin' ya, this time rent the 250 lb-ft TQ wrench from Autozone and seat the pulley up to 240 lb-ft this time.

That pulley backing out will lower your dyno #'s too as the crank will have bad harmonics.

as they were dyno tuning the car i think it started to back off, but the first pull, the pulley was still on there.

You should be dynoing more than that. I did 416rwhp with the patriot 5.3 heads and a TR220 cam. I did notice your A/F curve is really wavy. Most are smoother than that, it also looks like you were close to 14:1 A/F during parts of the run. Did anyone do any LS1edit work to the car? Did you autotap it to see if you were getting any knock retard, and lastly... did you have it dyno'd when it was cam only?

oh.. are you running cat's on your FLP's?

With my TEA heads and a 224/224/ 581 cam my Corvette did about 410 fully tuned. I also had every bolt on. Remember most Vettes dyno about 5% lower than F-bodys. Heavier drivline.
I just upgraded mine to the Patriot stage 11 LS6 head and the Magic cam and only did a little over 445.

I think that is some of your problem. Your A/F curve should look MUCH smoother than that. Send me your email addy and I'll email you one of my A/F curves before and after tuning. The "after" is much better. Your car is running too lean and I'm sure you are getting knock retard. Do you know anyone with auto tap that can check your car out?

The A/F on the graph is hard to read to me. However, it looks like the car is ~14 to 1 when the pull starts and for several hundred rpm. At 4500 rpm the A/F looks like 13.5 to 1. The A/F looks like ~13 to 1 at 5000rpm. Then back up to ~13.5 to 1 for the rest of the pull.

Seems on the lean side to me.

I'd take it to East Side Performance one of our sponsors and get it tuned or a least the A/F checked.

Does the car have a fresh fuel filter?

I think you need a competent tuner, like ESP And you need to seat the pulley bolt correctly

Pdd. I just got the LS6 Style Patriots on my Vette, with 59CC Chambers and 11:5:1 Compression. I am waiting for a center section for my headers (which I also just added) then I will dyno and post results.

I bet the guys that tuned your car didn't know what they were doing, or at least that is the way it seems. You need to hook a GM Tech 2 Tool or Auto Tap, GM being better of course, and then you can check fuel Trims, knock retard, timing, etc etc.

I dynoed a Base line 343/363 (converter unlocked) with my 224 Cam only car YankSS3600/3.42 gears/CatLess, which ran an 11.82 at 115 MPH.

Then a few days ago I added the 6.0 liter Patriot Heads, a Bigger Cam 228/228 .588/.588 114 LSA from a 224/224 .563/.563/114LSA and a set of New C5 Kooks LT Headers with a 3" Off Road X-Pipe and No Cats. I won't be able to pin point what gains the heads gave me exactly, but with headers(15 HP at least), a Bigger Cam (worth at least 10-15 rwhp) I better be pretty darn close to 400 or over that # or else I will not be too happy

I am running open headers now and the car is garaged waiting for my 3" off road X-Pipe/Center Section that bolts from the Header Merge Collectors to my CatBack to be delivered from KOOKS.

If they perform well then I will give them plenty of praise Only Time will tell.

I have the best tuner in Dallas (In many's opinions) doing my car,
Chris (The Bear) Robinson, so I know my car will be tuned perfectly, my fuel curve will be perfect, and all the other modified parameters will be checked with the Tech 2. Then the results will be posted.

Good Luck

I am also disappointed.I would guess a tuned combo, such as this, would be at 415 to 420.I would have someone else look at the tune.

ESP is in CT whichs probably isn't that far away. I've talked with bought stuff from ESP and Ken & Guy shoot straight. They won't sell you on something you don't need to do. They would be my first choice in the New England area to take my car to for tuning.

I agree with the others, get your a/f and timing tuned in correctly. And make sure that the crank pulley is seated on there correctly. They can cause KR sometimes normally much less if they are not seated correctly. I bet you are getting less hp due to KR cause of the pulley as well as a shotty tune.

Get your pulley and your tuning squared away. I got 423HP and 392TQ from a 224/Stage 2 Heads Set Up.

Notice how smooth 1Scrudedude's fuel curve is? That is how a well tuned fuel curve will look.. yours is a LONG way from looking like that. Get that pulley and the tune fixed, you'll make your 420rwhp.
