Default What do you think broke

On 9-6-03 I ran a couple of bike's (and beat them )but my engine started sputtering and making really wierd noises (blown engine noises)when I got of the freeway.I decided to punchit to see what would happen and it lugged and surged hard until about 2500rpms and then it accelerated normally but still making noises. So I've done a compression check and the right side all had 145-150psi while the left side had 170-175psi I removed the valve covers and didn't find anything wrong so I will pull the intake manifold in a few days to check the pushrods and lifters I had an ses light on but it was already on since I blew the left side cat a few weeks before hand .I probobly won't be using a scanner.Sorry for the long post, hope you guys can help

you can check the pushrods by just removing the vavle covers and talking off the rockers and pulling the pushrods out. you'll have to pull the heads to have access to the lifters. talking off the manifold wont give you access to anything.

when you put the rocker arms back on do you have to adjust them in a specific order or do they just get torqued to a specific amount via torque wrench?

sound's like you may have lifted a ring land. I did it once and the engine sounded real bad. The piston parts that came undone had closed the gap on a sparkplug. So I knew what cylinder was hurt. I changed the plug and the car ran fine.
Compression check was normal also. Then I did a leakdown test. And found my problem.

tq the bolts down 20ft-lbs the first pass, then turn the engine 180* and retorque to 22ft-lbs.

I haven't gotten around to do a leakdown test but since the whole right side(passenger) head had lower compression readings than the left.Do you think it's a busted head gasket?
