Bigger cam qeustion
Ok, I had a Comp Cams 236/236 585/585@112LSA. I had a lifter crap out and destroyed the cam. So I called Comp Cams and told them i was going bigger and they recommend the 281/289 617/624@113LSA. I talked to a guy yesterday that said that I need to "Fly Cut my pistons" in order for the cam to work. I was wondering how true this is. If so/not, what all do i need to do in order to run a cam like that with a stock bottom end and stock valves?

thats prob @.006 so it should be a 231/239 @.050 that would be a good cam.
out of all the cams i have ran on my 346 the best all around cam was a xer 281 232/234 .587/.589 on a 112+2 had explosive mid range but still pulled past 6500

the answer to your question is NO BODY KNOWS unless they degreed THAT cam in YOUR engine and checked PISTON TO VALVE CLEARANCE. do yourself a favor and check ptv clearance no matter what anyone tells you. if its gonna be close, it NEEDS to be checked. period
