Default Lunati 221/221 - 559/559 114 LSA Camshaft

Has any one used this camshaft. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what type of gain they have yielded. I was thinking of installing this cam with Hooker LT Headers, comp cam 918 springs, Ported Throttle Body and dyno tuning. I was hoping to drop my quarter mile times down to the low twelve at around 112-mph range.

The reasons I ask is I was thinking of having EPP in Ft Wayne do the install and this is the brand they carry.

well, that is the MTI/Lunati B1 camshaft.

you: 221/221 559/559 114 lsa
B1 : 221/221 558/558 114 lsa

Everyone has done well when swapping to a B1. Very docile compared to other cams out there but still very good gains from it.

The B1 or TR220 should be fine.
But might as well go TR224 on a 114 ---Thunder Racing------->

I'd seriously go for a 224 size cam. Inquire with your installer.

My Friends car Made 365 rwhp with that cam in a 2000 TA. it was just the cam and FLP headers through FLP Cats a loud mouth and the regular intake bolt ons. The cam could bayley be heard but it made good power.

Go to www.ls1.com and look under the engine section. There will be a cam post at the top. All the cams are listed in the first post. Click on B1 and T1 and you will see the results. I just got this cam 2 days ago. Many people run 280+hp with bolt ons. Good #'s for a cam its size. Most people will tell you get the TR224.Think about where you want your car in the future. If you want 400hp on stock heads you need to go bigger.

My old setup with a T1(221/558/112), heads, LS6 intake, MACs, GMMG and the normal bolt on's did 416/405 through a 12 bolt/slicks. T1 & B1 are great all round cams!

i dont see low 12's being a problem with that cam but id go with something a bit bigger like a TR224...im sure your shop can get you a custom ground cam if they deal with lunati to come close to the Tr224 though everyone that is getting custom grinds done will not have the same ramp rate lobes it will be close enough.

It sounds like this cam with a set of long tube headers will do exactly what I want. I didn’t realize that this cam was the same cam as the B1.

I also have been considering the Tr224 cam with a 114 LSA or at least a custom grind with the same specs. From what I’ve read it would give me approximately a 10-hp advantage with out sacrificing the ability to still use the car as a daily driver. I still have a couple months to decide.

I appreciate all of the replies.

Thanks,

Al
