Default LS1 vs. LQ4 windage tray

I know the LS1 windage tray is shorter due to the LS1 oil pan bing shallower.
I am going to be swapping a LQ4 into an Fbody, given that I already have a LS1 oil pan and pick up tube, could I simply cut the LQ4 windage tray with a grinder down to the proper LS1 length? I don't know if the LS1 pickup tube will still be able to bolt up properly or not...

Help is much appreciated, thanks.

Whats wrong with the LS1 windage tray?

You could modify the LQ4 tray to work, if I remember right the difference is due to the LS1 oil pick-up tube.

I never said there is anything wrong with the LS1 windage tray, I just don't have one. I need to fine one, along with a LS1 pick up tube that I thought I had... I have a pan, that's it.

The fbody windage tray is a bit shorter, due to the front of the pan being much shallower. If no pics are posted tomorrow, I can grab some when I get my tray out.

I know that already, I was asking if you cut the LQ4 windage tray shorter, will it work...

It doesn't really matter now, I found a LS1 windage tray and used that.

Yes, you can cut the front off IOT fit the pan.

It looked like you referring to "you", you meant the poster you were quoting, like you were directing your reply to him.
It's an easy assumption to make, worded as it is. I stand corrected....
