Pretty sure you need to re-sleeve to go .030.

Some details about the 347..approx HP or ET in runs would help us help you build a motor to beat him.

Is this a DD, street car, street strip, what?

Without knowing anything on the 347, im going to say your going to need some beast *** 243 heads, milled and CNC ported, a mid to high 23X duration camshaft, FAST intake, a converter to match the cam if its an auto or a good clutch and 4.10 gears if its a stick.

And a 12 bolt/9" if you dont have one already.

as far as i know you CANNOT BORE a LS1 ..you can hone the cylinders but only to a certain degree...then you have to get them re-sleeved..your best bet is to contact one of the sponsors here and get their advice..maby your could get a ready to go bare block or short block from them and itd wind up being cheaper for you that way?

yeah just talked to the machine shop today and did alot or research first of all it is an ls1 it came out of an 2001 ss second, the most you can hone or bore is .30 over but i am going to play it safe and just hone it .10 over and run some forged diamond pistons forged rods and it will be a street car not a dd but not a track car and as far as the 347 he is a daily driver. i need to know what head intake and cam combo i should use to get 450-500 hp all motor thanks guys oh and its a six speed and i do have 4:11's

450hp @ the flywheel is not a huge task... with 11:1 compession, stock heads, LS6 intake and a cam(not even a huge one) could get you in that ball park easy. 450whp you will need some head work done, but still not hard with that much compression... then 75 shot and boom, theres 500whp

sorry to steal your thread but will a stock ls1 crank shaft work with a forged 347 and still be reliable

Where-ever you got the information about .030, not .300, being the limit on boring, is absolutely in-correct.

The most anyone with credibility would suggest would be .010 over. Mahle has pistons for the 3.908 bore but IMO, I would go with a 3.903 or 3.905 Wiseco, Diamond, or JE before Mahle.
