Default Whats the Best Hyd Roller Lifter on the Market?

I'm running an aggressive cam and springs with 3/8 push rods in my 383 build and I need a seriously stout lifter that can reliably handle a harsh environment without failure /pump up /ect, so who has the best lifters out? Comp travel limiting lifters any good? Thanks

The GM LS7 lifters have proven to withstand what you're wanting to do and only cost ~$120. The only other lifter that would be more stout is the Cadillac Racing lifters.

Morel's are one of the best out there. Most bigger company's use them and relable as their own.

Oops, didn't see that, thanks. I have seen the LS7's last even with XER lobes and dual springs though; maybe there's something else going on with his setup? There aren't too many other hydraulic cams more aggressive than the XER before getting into solid roller material.

Now a days there are several lobe profiles more aggressive then the XER design.

if your wanting a top of the line lifter to take the punisment of an agressive valve train look at the Morals, they have a OEM and linkbar type for the LS1. either set runs about 500$ a set but are a quility piece and as stated most of the big names such as lunati, comp, etc.. are rebranding a Moral lifter for use as their high rpm lifter.

Lsl, xfi, & lsk are all more agressive than the xe-r lobes...

Morel hands down.
You have options of a limited travel as well as their their ultimate lifter designed from offshore boat racing.

Yes they are a link bar.

http://estore.websitepros.com/212053...tegory=Lifters

The Ultimate Morel is $750 for the set, features limted travel( .030 )and thicker body walls for sustained higher rpms. This is what I run in my personal car.

Morel. Better material, better tolerancing on the fabrication, better bearings.

The offshore guys run these a lot and an offshore motor is at high RPM high load for extended periods of time. Makes a car look like a cake walk in comparison. Crane used to test their lifters in offshore motor for endurance because of the demands on the lifters.

The Morel lifter is the best I have used in the LS series of engines. I have used them in boosted engines with great results, one of them running 8100rpm and 7 second et's boosted with no problems in the valvetrain.

One more vote for the Morels as in the wheels and axles are also much better. I have yet another set of LS7 lifters with eth wheels coming off on a bracket motor another shop did that was getting into valve float and I have seen this maybe 25 times now on the different OEMs coming apart. The Morels can take a lot more abuse although setup properly the LS7s seem to work great but it's insurance on the Morels mostly for me in abusive situations.
