Default 00 LS1 Oil leak Please help a noob

I swapped in an 00 FBody LS1/T56 into my 3rd gen Rx7.

I had the rear main seal replaced and i'm not sure they did it right.

I've had an oil leak since i did the swap. It only drips about 1 time ever 4 seconds when running. When I pulled off the fly wheel there wasn't any oil on the side of the FW between the FW and block.

However, there was oil inside my clutch and pressure plate and oil was slung everywhere inside the bell housing.

I noticed when I pulled off the fly wheel that there wasn't any sealant or thread lock on the FW bolts, and that there was oil on the threads all the way up to the head of the bolt.

Could this be the source of the leak or should I replace the rear main again?

sorry for the poorly put together post, but I have to do this on the fly before class. here's pics to help i hope.

please don't dog me for the poor clutch work, I have a bum leg that makes that heavy Centerforce clutch a PITA

thanks in advance

if other pics are needed i can get them this afternoon

Looks like the plug is missing in the center of the crankshaft........look inside the hole and see if its missing or damaged.

It is trust me on this. Inside the hole in the center of the crankshaft is a metal plug. That plug is either missing or damaged, thats why you are getting the clutch oiled down. If the rear main seal was leaking it wouldn't oil down clutch like that.

Someone probably damaged the plug while installing or changing the pilot bearing in the crankshaft.

ohhhh i don't doubt that. the guy who installed the rear main an pilot bearing wasn't very good at his job come to find out...after the fact

i've been searching GMpartsdirect.com and can't find the part number for that seal.

I felt that oil galley plug and it wasn't oil'd down. that's not to say that it didn't cook off, but it wasn't as messy as i thought it might be if the leak is coming from there.

more pix

You could put the flywheel back on and start it up and look for your leak.
