Default Futral FM4/114 cam users inside

I love my TR230/224 but I'm thinking about going with a cam that has a better idle. I'm considering a Futral FM4, 226/226/575/114. What kind of power have you made with this cam, and more importantly, what kind of ET's. I want to stay with the 114 for idle quality, and possible changes to my setup. Thanks.

I had that cam and it rides out. The only reason I got rid of it was because it idled like stock in my car.. I sold it to a friend and he loves the cam..

Yea it idles pretty good Jeff. Heck you made the pulls on the dyno in it, and Evil tuned it. Hot restarts could be a bit better, dead cold ones too for that matter. Its a great cam that makes great power, I guess maybe I'm just getting old.

Thanks for the reply Vince, thats what I wanted to hear. A stealthy idle is not a bad thing in my book. If I can make the power and sound near stock............... what they don't know won't hurt them.

As good as your 228/230 idles, I figure a 226/226 on a 114 should sound damn near stock.

How does the 228/230 idle? Is it on a 112LSA?

Its on a 113 LSA. She takes about 30-45 seconds or so to find idle (about 900 rpm) when she's been sitting for a good while. Warm starts arent too bad either.

With the cutout open - she lopes hard. With it closed and running through the stock muffler - she's pretty much a sleeper.

Stock muffler can cover up alot. I'll be on LTs, !CATS, and GHL mufflers. Looking for something that lopes but gives a nice tq curve.

Thanks
