Default Stock Lifters with Torquer 3?

I want to run a torquer v3 and plan on the install this summer. I have 135k miles on the engine and want to know if I should buy new lifters or just re-use the stock lifters. For that matter is it not advisable to use my stock lifters at that mileage regardless of the cam agressivness? I have read that the torquer 3 has fast ramps and that can lead to accelerated valvetrain wear.

Please let me know what you think and Im open to suggestions.

I don't think it's a matter of what kind of lifters you have, it's more of a mileage issue. Stock lifters work fine in most applications with most cams. It's just that most people like/recommend to change parts with high mileage. In the case of these engines, with the lifters under the heads, the lifters aren't often changed.

I think it would definately be worth the extra time and money to invest in some ls7 lifters. At that mileage there is a good chance one of the lifters will give out shortly after the swap. Remember those things are going on 11 years old now.

I have seen low mileage lifters hold up with the V3. However, if it was my 100k engine, I would swap to LS7s no question about it.

I cant beleive that I forget about the ls7 lifters, $100 is very cheap. The only thing is that I dont want to pull the heads yet. I was gonna go cam only then PRC ls6 stg 2.5 sometime later this year. I know I will have to swap springs so it has put me in a tough situation. Anyone selling a good set of heads.........

Thanks for the replys

Best price I could get for a set of LS7 lifters was $135 shipped. If they are $100 somewhere I'd be interested to know.

I would just wait and do the H/C at the same time so you only have to pull the heads once..... If you have a lifter come a part it may take your $400 cam with it.....
