Thinking about getting a performance chip. (2001 ls1 ss) What do yall recomend?

There is no "chip" you can buy. I recommend saving up money for a real mod. I assume your car is stock?

You have a Power Control Module (PCM) not a chip........ It is essentally a small computer and your PCM can be "tuned" using programs like HP Tuners, LS1 Edit etc..... It can do much more than the old "chip"...

Spend some time in the "Tuning and Diagnostics" section.

Actually I believe Jet used to & might still offer their "chip" for the LS1, IIRC it was more of a piggy back to the PCM or something like that. I never really looked into it cause its a waste of money.

Like stated above, start with bolt-ons & then get a real tune. You'll be amazed how these cars respond to the right combo of bolt-ons.

I had a JET chip on my other vehicle and it's the biggest waste of money. Just focus on mechanical mod's and tune the car.

haha.. I had a jet chip that came with the car when i bought it and i went to the dyno with basic bolt ons when i took that off i gained 15hp no joke it was funny. If you want one ill sell you mine lol. let me know
