Stock heads upgrades for stock LS1 ??
need to know differences between 243 ls6 , 243 ls2 , 799 5.3 , 317 6.0 ... please correct me if im wrong ^^^^^^^^^^
so far i heard this & that but I need solid info on which heads flow better mainly STOCK chambers cc & best of all, for all motor applications !!

They are all "basically" the same head.
With that said, for a NA setup you can cross out the 317s, they have 72cc chambers.
LS6>LS2 castings because they come with lighter valves.
We had a local guy gain about 30RWHP when he swapped to 243s
(VJ and aftermarket springs.)
He was even running an LS1 intake still, lol...
You're going to need the rest of the bolt-ons to get the most out of the swap though.
YRMV.

That's my understanding of it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though, I don't claim to be an expert. I have 853s cuz I'm just in the bolt-on stage but I'm quickly considering a good ported set of 243s for a heads and cam swap I'm looking at next year. I was looking at TFS 215s but those damn things are out of this world in price right now.

So I wonder how much there would be to gain with a ported set of ls6's on a stock setup with the usual bolt ons?
