They are all "basically" the same head.

With that said, for a NA setup you can cross out the 317s, they have 72cc chambers.

LS6>LS2 castings because they come with lighter valves.

We had a local guy gain about 30RWHP when he swapped to 243s
(VJ and aftermarket springs.)

He was even running an LS1 intake still, lol...

You're going to need the rest of the bolt-ons to get the most out of the swap though.

exact same heads. Some came on Corvettes, GTOs, 2007+ 4.8/5.3L Silverado, Grand Prix and other FWD 5.3L cars.

The only difference is if you get a set of 243s off of a 02-04 LS6 Corvette. It has lightweight valves, all the others have the heavy valves.

The listing of heads from best to worst goes:
243
241
853

That's my understanding of it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though, I don't claim to be an expert. I have 853s cuz I'm just in the bolt-on stage but I'm quickly considering a good ported set of 243s for a heads and cam swap I'm looking at next year. I was looking at TFS 215s but those damn things are out of this world in price right now.

So I wonder how much there would be to gain with a ported set of ls6's on a stock setup with the usual bolt ons?
