Default Hot Rod magazines ls cathedral head test

I was flipping through this months mag when I came upon this cylinder head Test and it was very informational on a 408 stroker. I was a trick flow die hard until I saw this it seems like the numbers are so much closer Than I had expected . I wanna know if this has changed any other peoples minds who plans on building a 408. What would you go with?

It was a nice test for sure. Our PRC 237 head moved the most air overall of the cathedral heads. I wish the test had better utilized the PRC heads, some additional lift & a few hundred more rpm would have allowed the PRC heads to hit their peak HP.

I also think they could have mentioned some heads require aftermarket rockers & spring upgrades just to run the smaller camshaft they supplied. With the PRC heads customers can use stock rockers & they ship standard with PRC .675" springs!

Yes the texas speed heads were very nice I loved the flow numbers on them and one of the top overall average torque and hp throughout rpm range.
I do have a question if I'm in the market of heads and I'm building a 383 stroker with the kit from texas speed what would be the best prc heads to go with ? With 11.1 comp and whart cam would texas speed have to offer for a stroker looking for a larger mayby 240 range?

We have a 227 head that has a smaller chamber that will be perfect for what your looking to do. It has a small chamber configuration & still moves big big air for a 3.9" bore motor. That's the head we used in our record setting heads cam car that went 9.66
