Default Can i hit 400 rwhp with this combo>?

ok my combo is gonna be a 6.0 motor bored .030 over...so its a 370ci....its gonna have stock crank, forged rods and pistons....it will have patriot stage 2 ls6 heads with 59cc....and all the bolt ons....plus tuned by ls1 edit...the kicker is its gonna be in my truck so im worried about hittin 400hp to the rear wheels...oh i almost forgot the cam is a Tsp 224/224 .561/.561 112lsa....i know thats a pretty small cam, but its a daily driver so i didnt want a HUGE one...so u guys think i can do it? oh yea the forged internals are for a 200 shot of nos but do u think i can hit 400 N/A? thanks

Through that stall, I think it'll be a tight stretch. However, I think its possible.

Peace,

well the truck has the same trans and rear basicly so the drivetrain loss should be close to the same for the most part. i would say if you dont hit 400rwhp. then i would be shocked because a stock ls1 with boltons and that cam with no heads can hit 400, an auto might take heads, but still. shouldnt be a problem

acually the factory 8.5 10 bolt is just about as heavy as a 12bolt and will lose the same amount of power at is. also if you have the factory wheels and tires you will lose even more power there. also being that it is an Extended cab the driveshaft wieghs more. the trans is the same and as long as you dont have a 4x4 you dont have to pull a transfer case. it will be very close with that combo. dont forget to let us know how it goes.

It will be close. I would go alittle bigger on the cam to take advantage of the flow on those heads. If not 5.3 S2 would work just as well.

i would have to think that if it is not a 400 + rwhp, you will be close to it. I will agree with 98ss though, a tad bit bigger cam will help with those heads!

Good Luck

are you using a camaro/vette intake? heads look like you will need more cam.
also, just a thought. your truck should weigh in something like 4k right?
seems like your going kill torque with those heads...

With 370 CID I'd go bigger than a 224 XE-R cam. I have a 224 XE-R in my 346 it's pretty tame. I'd think at least a 228 to 230

If your going to spray a 200 shot, I think I'd check with TEA about a little port work on your 6.0 heads. TEA has a special NOS exhaust port that would be just right for your NOS application. Check out this graph NA with TEA 2.5 porting on LS6 heads. Same porting can be done on 6.0 heads. That's with the NOS port NA and a 230+ cam in a 346. 400rwtq @ 3,500 rpm with M6. Image what your extra 24 CID, 4.0 bore, A4 with stall would do torque wise!!!
