Default Harland Sharp rocker arm install.....pics

Finally got everything bolted down and the motor running. I also got the new HS rocker arms thrown in the car as well. A few things I noticed about these is that the shaft mounting is alot thinner than others on the market. but for the price, I dont think you can beat them and they are a great alternative to the factory rocker arms. as per the HS site, they are a direct bolt in. BUT in the small print it mentions variations of head castings that may have to be clearenced. I did not want to hack on the heads so I instead clearenced the rocker arms using a belt sander. And the only ones that really needed it were the 4 arms on the outer most edges of the heads. they fit fine under the stock covers and even clear my large double valve springs. I DID HOWEVER have to shim the rocker arms up. But then again my heads are milled .030.

Here are a few pics after the install

What springs do you have and what heads as well? Thanks I'm shooting for these as well and are going to a cc 977 dual spring with a set of 5.3 heads. The pictures are not coming up..

Just Attach them via the LS1Tech post way. You may have to make them smaller but just go back and edit your post to click on Manange Attachments and upload them.

These are actually VERY reasonable compared to the other arms on the market now.

Can you compare the quality, weight, and fitment of these versus the YTs?

How much did they cost? Where'd you get them from? Kinda strange they want you to modify the head for some castings, seems like it'd be easy to shave a little material off the rockers before they go out the door.

these are a high quality piece. Just like anything HS has put out. I havent had any first hand experience with YT's but in comparison to pics I have seen the finish is far better on the HS rockers. These will also fit directly under your valve covers with no modification what so ever. I am not sure YT's can do that.

The one thing I didnt really care for was the diameter of the shaft on the HS. I was really hoping for something thicker. The YT does have a much larger shaft than the HS rockers.

I will be Flogging the absolute snot out of these rockers in June at the Pony Express 130 open road race. I will be avereagng 130mph with a tech speed of 150mph over the course of 130miles. RPM's wont be below 4500 for extended periods of time. After that I will put my final word in on the rockers.
