comp lsl lobe 235/243 .620 .623 head ptv?s
Recently purchased this comp lsl lobed cam for my stock ls1 and decided to upgrade my heads. Im going to be swapping to either a ported 5.3 or 243 and was wondering at what cc will I have ptv issues? I understand gasket thickness will also effect my ptv. Just trying to get some ideas before I jump on buying a set.

I ended up buying this cam from CSilvers1984 and is in my Formula now. Works very very nice.
Chris the main reason you had alot of PTV on the intake side is where your cam is so advanced. Your IVO of 12.5* BTDC is where you get into trouble. This particular cam that I got off of Silvers above has a IVO point of 7.5* BTDC and has no issues with stock heads. But it's crazy how a few degrees will make that much difference!
Seeing that you had the ICL pretty advanced on that 239 intake lobe it still has an earlier IVC point than my current 235 110ICL cam does. I'm contemplating on advancing mine to regain some of my midrange torque back. My torque curve looks like a nice flat arch but is fairly low but does carry out very nice up high and is kind of choked by the LS6 intake. -Just rambling on and ran across this post and thought I'd comment.
