Stealth Cams

Stealth II, moron! It has more duration on the intake with a little less lift 224/220 instead of 220/220(known as a split pattern camshaft)so it idles great. Plus its on a 116LSA so it should idle smooth and be not so agressive sounding and make plenty of power(which is why MTI made it!) Good choice with the Stealth series, but you should check out the Thunder Racing "old MAN" cam 215/220 .600/.523 115 LSA Which is close to stock duration with more lift on a 115 LSA, it should make great power in the stock powerband and there is no tuning required(save$$) plus it will idle great, just dont forget to upgrade your springs! Stealth II = slightly more power than the Stealth I but makes for a slightly higher revving engine. The idle should be about the same. Maybe just a tiny bit smoother with the II.
The cams aren't that much different really.

Power- Stealth, TR, GT2
Idle - GT2, TR, Stealth
However, how smooth is smooth when it comes to idle characteristics? There is only so smooth you can get. If ya can't tell, you can't tell. In other words, you don't have to have a 207 intake duration to be stealthy.

Colonel - do you know what ICL that stealth II cam is on?
I think I remember from a long time ago that you (or someone else) posted that the cam was 2* retarded, but that might have been the original stealth or even the old man cam.

Thanks Colonel. I think you are right on the -2 for the TR OMC. With its small intake duration, they retarded it to provide more upper rpms.
You have the SII cam right? How is the valvetrain noise on it? I assume with the high lift (especially the short exhaust XE-R lobe), that it would be a little loud.

Colonel, you had mentionned previously ion a thread that your cam Stealth II is 224/220, .581/.581 116 lsa. Yet at MTI it's advertised as 224/220, .571/.581 116 lsa. Is that a typo or did they variate on the one in your car? Could that be the reason that some of them lope more than yours.??
