LS7 lifters or what?
Hey guys.
I bought a set of LS7 lifters from a guy who said they had dyno time on them only. I got to looking at them (a year later) and noticed some of them look different. Where the oil hole is, one has a round indention and the other has a angle like most ls7 lifters I've seen picures of. Any ideas what these are?

Part on left is manufactured by Delphi, part on right is manufactured by Eaton or Topline/Hy-Lift. Nothing to be worried about dimensionally, although for the price of new lifters, I'd replace them for peace of mind.

As Havoc said, $120 for a complete set of new LS7 lifters is well worth the piece of mind.
It seems odd to me that there would be 2 different kinds of lifters in the motor unless some of them had problems and were replaced at some point. If that's the case, which ones are newer and which ones are older.

Yes, they're factory GM replacements for dog-bone/tray retained lifters, manufactured by different companies.
I don't go by this internet labeling system of "LS7" or "Caddie". None of the functional dimensions are different. A .050" difference in height over ball measurements fall within specs for acceptable parts. Now, is there a difference in performance between the different manufacturers? Sure, that's possible. Just like everything else, testing and collecting data is crucial.
Like I said, go get you some NIB lifters from the local dealer or order them from a vendor on here. Your this far into your engine, why not start fresh?
