Default Oil pump and Timing Chain Question

Should I go with the ported LS6 oil pump and LS2 Timing chain set or the SLP oil pump timing chain package? The LS6 oil pump and LS2 tc and about $280 while the SLP set is $350. These parts are going on an LS1 with 124k and future heads and cam swap. What do you guys recommend?

the cheaper route. if the pump is brand new and the chain is new your good to go. your not going to break it

Ls6 pump and ls2 is the way to go! I got both mine "slightly used" for $80 and they have worked perfect as did the set I bought brand new! GM parts are reliable!

So are talking about getting the ls6 ported oil pump? I am looking at getting an oil pump for my 6.0. But I don't know about getting a oem ls6 pump or a ported high pressure.

Either one will work fine, a high pressure is overkill in my eyes unless you have a serious cubic inch or high revving motor...I run stock ls6 pump on h/c/I no problem. I'm sure the ported ones are nice though.
