only run stock rockers on tfs heads with the upgraded powder metal valve guides.. and DO NOT shim the rockers! it pushes the tip of the rocker to one side and causes it to wear the stem of the valve down, even to the point of it hitting the locks. i have trickflow 225's with the pm guides and they work great

Personally, I would contact Brian Tooley directly and get his input. Also, stock rockers on an aftermarket cam typically require lowering (not shimming which raises the rocker) to correct the geometry (wipe pattern). You should check it though regardless as any change to rocker height will also change pushrod length.

Guys, thanks for the info. I have an email and phone call into TEA.

One question.... Why does thunder racing sell shims and say they have to go with the TEA heads? Did something change in the design over the years that no longer requires the shims?

Thanks!

shim them if you want but in a few 1000 miles when the tips of your valves are gone from the rocker eating away at the tip dont blame t.e.a, it will be thunder racings falt. i know brian had said he had 2 sets that needed valves from just when he had my heads so i would not recommend you shimming the tfs heads.
