Default Thermal Images of LS1 engine

Thought you guys would like these.

Isn't directed to anyone on this board. Internet genius thought the photos were photochopped, this was the photographers response

More proof they are not fake

Take a guess at what this is

Edit: uploaded the pics to the board just incase the links get cut

Those are ****** sweet! You can tell the difference in intake temps between the first photo (intake is purple) and the one with the 'bird' in it (intake is orange). Shows the intake does heat up quite a bit. Good to chill between runs.

So did you take them with a thermal imaging camera or what?

Very cool. So, just how did you come across a thermal camera? I wonder how long until those are priced for the average consumer.

Actually I'm the one who took them, thanks for the kudos. As of last week, Flir Systems has some cameras priced as low as $10,000, the one I used is an old Agema 550 I use at work (I'm a refinery inspector) and it cost $50,000 new.

One of the first things I noticed. I asked Omar (Buffhomer) what the difference in the engine temps were between the two pictures, something along the lines of 10 deg. Kinda puts to rest this BS about heat soak ,the intake does get hot. One person did get it right, its just a matter of time.

Omar is trying to see if he can get video
