PRC as cast 225 UPDATED VENDORS PLEASE LOOk
I have purchased a set of 62cc as cast 225's. I am planning on putting these on my SBE ls1 although will be building a 370 LQ4. The vendors I have purchased them from and the others I spoke to told me that the 225's will be plenty of Cylinder head for the 370. I want to make sure that this set up will run on Pump Gas 93 and be okay on the 370? any input would be great. thanks

Compression, both static and dynamic will tell you whether you will be fine to run on 93 pump gas or need some sort of race gas/E85.

Thanks for the input. My concern with pump gas was just that I don't know the cut off point for the compression ratio vs. higher octane gas. I think I made a good decision on them. Thank again.

Thanks for the help guys. Update as of today I received them. They look great! after looking at them the as cast is just that. So I have dropped them off at a friend of mine to be ported and polished for lack of a better term. I asked him to clean up the runners and take the casting marks out of them. Don't know if they will flow better but I would imagine they would have to. Any thing I should know prior to having him do this????? thanks

I would not touch them.
And why are you asking for advice after you bought them? That's an *** backwards way to go about modding your car.

Does he know what he's doing with LSx engines? More importantly, has he ever ported those heads and shown an increase in power? One of the easiest ways to ruin a set of heads is to have someone port them.
I would not touch them.

This guys has built several motors. Not a lot of LS motors but some flying SBF. I have dropped them off but he wont start on them till next week. I will hold off until I do more research. problem is there isn't to many people running these yet let alone trying to port them at all. Just didn't want to have to pay 600 to cnc them. thanks for the advise guys. FYI i am only asking now because the search function gave me nothing after several hours of searching. thanks!.
