Default Where is my oil going?

I have a 422 that I built last year. I put about 900 miles on it last year with no problems. This year I've put maybe 400 miles on it and I'm going through a good bit of oil. Maybe a quart every 300 miles. The car is smoking on WOT runs and after watching Taner's video my car is detonating out the exhaust after a hard run like his. I ditched the PCV system and I'm running dual breathers. I'm running cometic head gaskets and studs. Any idea or something I should check?

Do a leak down, I'm guessing your rings are toast or valve seals are done.

I agree, do a leak down.

If you're spraying, which it looks like you are watch those head gaskets.

Oil and nitrous are a very bad mix.

RomanSS I see that you have "home of the fastest 6 speeds". Isn't that Allan Futrals record 9.88 @ 144???

This motor has a total of 1200 miles on it. It's barely even broken in. Did the rings not seat properly maybe? The motor hasn't been sprayed yet either.

Man that is shitty.

I'd start with the leakdown. But it would be a lot easier to check you valve seals.

Good luck,

Roman
