Default Anyone heard of Proheader heads?

I have an opportunity to buy a set of heads made by "Proheader", who I have never heard of. I currently have ported 241's.

They are 220cc intake and 84cc exhaust with 65cc chambers, and they are $600 for the set, brand new, bare castings.

Are they worth it, or just stick to my ported 241's until I can afford a set of known good heads from Tony?

I would see if the specs match procomp crap and Chinese junk often changes names to dodge bad reviews.

That doesn't sound like such a great deal considering they are no name and possibly crap.

After you buy valves, spring kit and valve job you're looking at more than double the price. Wouldn't pay that kind of money for unknown heads.

From what I dug up they are import heads i.e. Chinese, mostly like from Yongyu (MFR). These heads are apparently much better than the ProComp trash we are used to seeing in the knock-off head category. I still have a big hang up about using Chinese parts on my All-Canadian Camaro

Speed master markets china stuff out of Australia or New Zealand and I've actually tried some of their GEN I garbage on stock car builds. Only cuz the engine owner didn't have enough money to buy **** AND pay me...LOL
Knock on wood; they've worked surprisingly well, however they already had the guides sized and a decent valve job done.
I would never chance 600 dollar stuff on a nice LS build as it really is a roll of the dice and you could end up spending another 600 just to make them right.....that is if you happen to have a shop nearby that can make chicken salad outta chicken ****.....

Just ordered a set of these for a 406 sbc im building.. They have had the best reviews I could find on import heads, Skip White offers nice import heads, from my readings, Assault heads are nice as well, giving they are imports, but all much better then junk pro comps.. Well see how it goes, but if your on a budget its hard to beat.. I certainly dont have money falling out of my *** to pay that kinda money for heads..

I've actually seen a few reputable companies using these import castings as budget heads for the older Chevy and Ford platforms. It's not a bad deal when you don't have factory aluminum heads as plentiful as the LS market does and you're stuck between deciding on rebuilt factory iron heads or more expensive aftermarket castings like TFS or AFR.
