Rods won't work. Wrong pin size.

would a rod with .945 pin hole work with the .943 pin hole on piston? Or does the tolerances need to be tighter?

According to summit, the piston is for a .945" pin and a press fit (non-bushed) rod:

With that setup, the piston should be looser for clearance and the rod should be tighter for a press fit. This is the rod you would use:

Don't forget that summit will price match...

Tracking! Now the questions rises, is a press fit pin better than a floating? I always heard floating pins were the bees knees. However your match up yielded lower build cost.
Press < floating
I beam < h beam

Not really, the floating pin is just easier to assemble. The press fit rods and pistons have to go to a machine shop to be assembled.
