Give me you Email addy and I'll shoot you a mail with my dynographs from it. Be prepared for a rough idle and I hope you have a good tuner to get it driveable.

it may "run" but I promise you that it won't make power for ****. I swapped it out for an "old school" B1 cam and made more torque and power. The Reed Cam lobes that it is ground on is hurting it IMHO. The same specs on a comp X-ER would make some good torque.

When I got the cam from Patriot to test it was in a REED CAM box, yellow and blue. The dyno graphs are on my computer at work, I'll post them up Monday when I get back to work along with all the other data I have from that test. I went from a 231/237 to the 232/230 then to the B1 cam all on the same set of heads. I have all the dyno data that I can post monday.

Lift was .578/.578. LSA was 110 and I ran the cam at 108icl and 106icl. 108 gave the best numbers.

The top of that cam is lazy. It would have liked being installed straight up best I would say

Other than lift, all the specs on the comp lobes vs your lobes on the intake side could be within grind specs for the mfg.

So, are you saying on your combo the B1 (221/221 114) made more power than the 231/237 and Chris' grind? By power do you mean dyno numbers, or track time?

Was your combo optimized for those cams?

The 231/237 made the most power out of the three. The only thing I changed between the 3 cams was A/F tuning.. all other components were the same. None of the 3 cams were ever ran at the track due to my car having a 10 bolt rear at that time. I'm not at work today and my runview along with all the dynojet run files are on my office PC. I'll post up a comparison graph tomorrow.

Btw... I never said that Chris had anything to do with the grind I was just given the cam to test by Patriot and after I got the data I took it out and gave it back to Patriot.

Here's a graph of the patriot cam, F13, and B1 all together. All of these runs were dyno'd the same way.. except I had 3.42's with the patriot cam and 4.10's with the f13 and B1. Open cutout and all belts on the car. I can't find the 231/237 run files right now... but I'll keep looking.

Who makes the F13 cam? I like the numbers. I would also like to see the 231/237 numbers.

It is hard trying to select a CAM. I want low end torque but like the HP also.

Thanks,
Bill

Here's a graph of before and after the 12 bolt swap. This is using the PRC heads and the PRC 225 cam.

I like the smooth curve that cam puts out. How does it idle? Is this car a daily driver or just for the track? How do you think this cam would work in a daily driver car?

Thanks Gomer.

Car has a noticeable idle, not anything like a "big" cam. I drive the car 70miles round trip to work and back every day. It gets ALOT better gas mileage than my 2001 4x4 Tahoe, so I end up driving it the most. Heck, my wife even drives the car a good bit.
