6.0 Iron Block
Since I need a new block anyway, has anyone put one of these in there Camaro? I want to use my crank, heads, manifold, and just go with forged 6.125 rods and some type of forged piston, standard 350 chevy? what head gasket to use? any problems or concerns? emissions legal? (I will be putting Vortech back on which is emission legal in CA.).
Thanks.
Thanks.

You will not be able to use 350 pistons. You can use your stock crank heads an manifolds but it is not the best way to go. If you go with the 6.0 and do not bore it out at all just use the stock bore 4inch with your stock 5.7 crank. You might run into ballancing problems. Not that it can not be done but it will not be cheap. 6.0 parts are heiver than 5.7 so more wieght has to be added to the crank so it can be balanced.
If you use your stock heads your CR will go up and you will not beable to use the same amout of boost safely. I am running 8.8CR and i would sujest that you do the same or some thing less thean 9.0CR.

Well considering you can get custom pistons with any dish you want the fact that he wants to use 5.7's is unimportant. I would go .030 over bore, get the heads cc expanded to the bore your running. Then turn up the boost and have some fun.

I agree, it is the better move going with an iron block. The crank would need to be balanced regardless since he wants to use an aftermarket rod.
There are many options as far as pistons go for a blower application. Please give us a call at the shop, and we would be more than happy to help you find the best piston for your application.
