Default Which rod bolts?

I plan on running one of the bigger cams and I want to upgrade rod bolts and I was wondering which ones were the best to use? I think I remember reading that the ARP bolts are nice and strong, but that the weight is different than the stock ones causing an inbalance. Is that true? I just wanna make sure that theyre strong but dont cause any problems. Thanks.

Using the PRO series here and not having any problems, motor feels nice and smooth at 6600.

Is the PRO series a type of series or a type of brand?

LS1 rods are made from powdered metal technology. The rod is one piece when formed and must be cracked to produce the cap. . .done by Mahle in Morristown, TN.

I would look at A1 rod bolts.

A-1 Fasteners our of California. They are an aerospace supplier and have been supplying bolts to the pros for sometime, they are now getting into more popular stuff.

Forget that aerospace bullshit. I have an inside person in top fuel that tells me the galvanized bolts from Home Depot are good for 8K rpms. Its true.

The article in a recent Vette magazine made it sound like they cracked the caps at the assembly plant in St. Catharines, but in hindsight I'm not sure they specifically said that.

Either way, it's a cool process. Just makes the rods pretty much a disposable item during rebuilds.

I've been to the Mahle plant in TN and have seen their piston manufacturing, it's way cool.

I could be wrong, but I believe it's the tensile strength...oh yeah, price, too.

Don't skimp. Go with the Pro bolts. Its not exactly a 35min installation, so why install a inferior strength bolt when you've already taken all the time to get under there. Just my .02c.
