A shitload! Are you planning on building the bottom end? How much boost do you want to run? There are a million answers to this question right now.

not as much as another blower would make. magna chargers don't make much boost, like maybe 4 pounds with the stock pulley. NineBall's car made just over 500rwhp in his 69' through a 6 spd and a 12 bolt, and he has the magnacharger on his car maxed out.

lets put it this way.... you could max out the magnacharger (eaton M112) without the heads or cam.... it simply doesnt move enough air to make more then 500-550hp...

im not saying the heads/cam wont help... but the cost far outweighs the gain in this case..

if you want a more powerful setup, look into another supercharger or a turbo.. if 500 is fine, then just get the magnacharger.

there are a few C5's pushing 550rwhp with a mag running the 2.8 pulley but that is about it, and yes heads and cam as well as lt's help but the best bang for the buck is a blower cam and the maggie. but on the + side most of the C5's in the 500 rwtq range are making it at 2800rpm and the curve looks like your kitchen table out to 6k rpm. If you want a race car go with TT or ATI/vortech, but for a fun street car the maggie is hard to beat.

also KB is planning an upgrade TS to mount to the maggie intake that should be crazy. If you are into doing a custom there are several Austrailian companys making intakes that will bolt a TS to the LS1 and those would be the equal of the ATI/Vortech at high rpm and still have the boost down low.

good luck with your project

Ive got a customer in Raleigh, he has a Lingenfelter H/C car (GT2-3 cam) and was making 435 rwhp, put on a Magnacharger, he's making just shy of 500 rhwp. For nasty peak numbers, go centrifugal or turbo. The Maggie makes great midrrange, but suffers from massive heat soak.
