need some help here. found these heads for sale for $600. Thats about what I charge and in the ball park in the flow department too. Are they used? They will make more power than what you have now but wouldnt say any more than 25 rwhp.

No component has a bigger impact on power production than the heads. Get the very best heads you can afford. Remember, it costs a lot to replace a poor flowing set of heads. Do it right the first time.

yes, i think you guys are hitting the nail on the head (no pun intended). i did some more researching to see what the actual differences between the different 'stages' were, and decided against it. I just happened to surf it on ebay and figured I would ask. thx for the input.

I dont want to seem like I disagree with what everyone else has said so far in this thread as I totally feel the same way.
Go the best you can on heads.
I will however throw this out.
If you can only afford 600 dollars I would say go for it.
It will be better then stock and provide you with a few extra ponies.
If you sell your heads for 200 bucks now you are only out 400 dollars.
Then take out the normal 150 bucks for springs, and 100 dollars for retainers and you are at a difference of only 150 dollars.
We spend 700 dollars on headers and this should provide you with a similar gains as headers.
To me it is a no brainer, but if you can go better then do it.

Or you can take your heads and send them to
http://www.portsculptor.com/

Bo will do a nice job for $650, better than PP IMO.
That is why I asked if you gambled, PP are too much of a crap shoot.
(this is just MY opinion)

yes, i agree with you there. I think folks often get the tendancy to feel they need to keep up with the jones' and go for the biggest and best. Nothing wrong with that at all if that's what ya wanna do. Let's face it, the stock LS1 is pretty damn stout compared to what.....90% of the other cars on the road today? Like I stated earlier, heads aren't at the top of my to-do list right now and I wanted to get a little input on these things. Thx for the input folks.

I agree here as well. From what I have read Bo is doing some real nice heads. However there is a HUGE difference in pricing here.
600 bucks minus your cores you can sell for 200 bucks makes it a 400 dollar purchase.
VS.
650 for port work, plus seting up the heads. Plus all the parts you need, which can total between 400-700 dollars.
So at the least your out about 1050 vs 400.
Big difference for most people.
Dont get me wrong I am not a fan of Patroit heads what so ever. I will never buy patroit heads, but thats because I like higher quality products.
If I was in this guys shoes though I would ****** these up in a heartbeat.

Eh, he said this was on ebay. i wouldn't trust those flow numbers for ****. i DO however trust Bo in his abilities. BIG DIFFERENCE there too.

I'd rather send my heads out to Bo and spend the extra 300-400 bucks to get a decent set of heads than throw 600 bucks down on a crap shoot. OR, save another 500 and get TEA Stg1.5rev2 heads, and just like Bo's work, TEA's work is well spoken for and proven.

We are going to release an affordable stage 1 head very soon. Our goals are to have it flow 295 cfm with the stock valve. ready to run for 995.95 exchange. The port has already been developed we are just waiting on getting it digitized. (maybe another month until the release.)
the above price will include
drop in valve springs
new GM seals
CNC Porting
Blending
valve job
and milling.
I will have a big post when it is finished! trust me on that

good info. i checked out BO's site and think i'll be at LEAST having a throttle body heading his way soon! The heads were NOT Patriot heads, just some smaller shop ( i guess) doing their own work on new head castings. Maybe there was some confusion there with my "P&P" acronym ( only meant Port & Polished). good input from all.
