Default Forged shortblocks What Company?

I am just getting ready to purchase a forged longblock motor from LME and I was just wondering if anyone can give me their input on the company whether good or bad or any other companys that build a nice motor at a descent price.

I haven't had to go down this road yet myself, but if you want a quick comparison check out the new issue of GM High Tech. They've got a quick overview of shortblocks available from most of the big names. They include info of parts they use, price, warranty, and what the company suggests for top end parts.

I just had HPE do my 415 iron block. Erik Koenig was great to deal with and he really knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

I know two people that have had their engines built by LME and they couldn't be happier.

A search will show that Futral and Thunder Racnig have been building shortblocks that exceed expectations for a really long time, and will not be "gone tomorrow".

I can objectively suggest these folks from years on this forum and the fact that I don't own a shortblock from either one (wish I did )
