Default Why my f-13 was lumpier than a t-rex

After spending 2 days trying in vain to tune this new cam, i really fealt that I had made a mistake not going with something a little smaller. I figured that my cam seemed rougher than other futral cams id seen simply because it was my car and im used to driving it every day. Finally this morning I decided to reseat all the sparkplug wires before my drive in to work. The car now idles and drives wonderfully and I can finally use the A/C without stalling, which will definately be necessary with record highs coming today! Just thought maybe someone would get a kick out of my folly. Maybe ill even see some more power now that Im running on all 8!

I'm guessing you are saying the plug wires weren't all connected?

One or more werntseated right. Some clicked further on when I pushed harder on the coil side, the plug side I removed and reinstalled. I feel like an idiot and I just need some people to laugh at me so i learn my lesson.

He has an F-13 and was saying it sounded like a TREX cam because it was missing so much due to the fact that not all cylinders had spark.

Yeah the plug wires have a single click when they go on the plugs, but you must get a double click on the other end when they go on the coils. You have to push quite firmly to get the second click.

Can you buy single plug wires...I need a taylor 8.5mm wire. Could I just go down to Autozone and get it?

I got the 0300 misfire code, but I figured that many cams get this anyway. I did not get a misfire code on a specific cylinder if thats what you mean. Its only been one trip, but the SES light isnt on. I think 0300 sets the SES on the second error. Ill scan after I revise my bin and upload...

I ran mine on six cylinders once after a plug change. Then when I realized that the #5 and #7 wires weren't connected to the coil packs I reached in to snap them on....while the car was still running.

At least you figured it out. Must get TWO clicks on every one of those coil packs.

ouch lol, I did that once on my old Mazda 323 that broke down in a church parking lot right after switch plug wires, I knew one had disconnected and I reached to grab it then zap zap zap lol.. I was so pissed I punched the horn but I dented it so it would not turn off and I had no tools to disconnect the battery so I had to walk home and leave the car there like that

No kidding. A year ago I hit my horn very hard because I was exceptionally pi**ed off at the women in front of me. The button stuck and I was left sitting at a red light with the horn going. It quit before I could pull over and find/pull the fuse. The button is still stuck, the fuse is good so I assume the horn went out. Oh well, just another few pounds I can take off, not like I need it people hear me coming anyway.
