Is it in your cooling system?

How long since your last change?edit... NM Im cant read...

Definitely sounds like too much consumption. I think GM says 1 qt per 1000 miles is normal

Have you considered installing a catchcan? It does sound like you have a lot of oil consumption. Try this, take off the lid/maf assembly and the throttle body. Run your finger on the inside of the intake and see how dirty it comes out. I'm betting it's covered in oil.

Yup, I used a water seperator from and air compressor and its works great. You can pick em up at walmart and its prolly th best performing mod for its price.

As rich as your car was running and judging by your poor fuel ecomnomy I would suspect it going past the rings. You can do a leak down and it will tell for sure.

If you recently changed valve stem seals they could have floated up on the valve. This happened to me as i must have been smoking crack when i changed my valvesprings and stem seals. I pulled the valve covers and pulled the springs to find most of my stem seals riding on the valve stem! I didn't really notice any smoke but i was consuming major oil. I changed out the springs and seals and that fixed my problem.

was there any oil in the catch can ?
pull the plugs too and see if they have a coating or any signs of it burning

also how have you been driving it latly? harder/higher rpm will burn more oil even though you wont see it out the exhaust .

also what oil are you using? that could make a difference .

definetly do a cylinder pressure/ leak down test then and see if theres a cylinder thats way off.

in the past for w/e reason i have found the 0w40 mobil one (which can be a bitch to find sometimes) works best and only burns half as much as the 10w30 mobil one did. do i know why? not a clue but it does help alot . i use mayeb a little more than 1/2 qt over 2000mi now as opposed to 1qt+ with the 10w30

all mixied driving .

let us know how you make out with the leak down and stuff though

You need a special leakdown tester that you can get from Snap-On tools and a few other places. It's not to be confused with a compression tester that you might pick up at your average parts store. The leakdown tester uses compressed air to see where your cylinder(s) are leaking. There's plans on the internet on how you can make your own "ghetto" leakdown tester but I can't recall the website off the top of my head. Just google "homemade leakdown tester".

Try this website http://www.lafishmag.com/LeakDownTester.html It looks like it was made for a bike but it should work on a car.
