Default The truth about a tune after a cam install?

I am about to throw the LS6 intake on along with a 226/226 .585 .585 112 cam & comp 918 springs on the A4/SS. It already has the usual air lid, headers, duals. Anyhow , how bad will I need a tune and if i dont get one will it hurt the car or just gas mileage & idle & performance ? ? ?

With an A4 you will stall almost everytime you put it into gear. When it doesn't stall you will be lacking a good bit of power that you could have, bad gas mileage, destroyed plugs and o2 sensors. The list goes on.

how much did you have to spend on the tune so i can guess on how much i will have to put to the side and what about getting it somewhere will it at least be able to get where i need to go for the tune?

I did a small cam and I'm running it without a tune. It does die at lights at times though...and probably doesnt run half as well as it could.

Basically it needs a tune..I"m just putting it off until I get my new heads and LT headers installed

you will need a tune, the car's factory tune will change. your car will either start running lean or rich and stalling. a tune will make the car run like you never changed a thing, just alot more power.

Vette's idle easier though since they have an electronic tb.
