Haven't seen any rightups, but heres what I did. Once I had my original engine out I put it on a stand next to my new SB on a stand. Started to dissasemble the old, after the heads were off I turned both moters over. Put my new oil pump in then started to swap things over, the oil pick up tube, the oil baffle, then the pan. Then swap the the crank sensor (behind the starter), Rear main cover (replace the rear main seal at this time. There is a blue plastic plug in the block you'll see it when you remove the rear cover dont forget to swap that. After you swaped the rear cover, slide the cam in and timeing chain. Next is timeing cover. Now you can swap the brass/allen plugs from both sides of the block, then the moter mounts ( If you are going to poly now is the best time). Now you can do lifters/trays and heads. After that the knock sensors, gally cover cam sensor and oil press sending unit. Thats just about it, hope this helps good luck.

Thats good. I'm printing that out and going to use it.

You might want to add:

-Install pushrods
-Install rocker arms
-Adjust lash on rocker arms
-Install valve covers

Only reason I noticed that is because that is exactly what I'm getting ready to do

Cool made your updates.. I am going to be doing this soon. I just ordered a shortblock from LME. I have never done this before and I want to make sure it do not **** up my new motor!

Could someone who has done this comment on the order of events. Is it right? Do I need to re-arrange anything?

You might as well save several trips to the parts store and pick up a metric tap set that includes M6, M8, and M10 taps. Harbor Freight sells them for $20 and inlcudes standard (english) sizes as well. That's what I've learned after this weekend. Damn aluminum strips easy

Another note, those two long *** bolts on the end of the oil pan, it's better to put those in first, but don't tighten them, then put the rest of the bolts in. Then torque them all down to specs.
