Default Time for Heads

Time for heads. Lets hear it guys. No budget limit. I need some opinions on heads. Feel free to give some good head and cam combos. I have a big cam in it right now, (can't find the specs for my current cam) but I’m most likely going to change the cam again. It's a 02 WS6, and it is not a daily driver. Give me full names I don't know some of these abbreviations.

If money is no object I go with either AFR's or ETP's heads. Both are sponsors---->. Both will give you cam advice for whats been working best with there heads.

AFR 205's with a 231/237 or maybe an MS3 if you are feeling saucy! Make sure you have some gears added into the equation too. I bet since you have a big cam you surely have some 3.73's atleast.

Little info on your engine.

Heads? Intake? TB? Drag car? Street car?

I'm no expert but AFR 225's and ETP 265's are at completely different ends of the spectrum. One could be great for your engine and the other might be a complete waste of money for you.

AFR (air flow research) and ETP (ET Performance) are at the top of the LS1 head game. You will get awsome power out of either head.

330 and 390 cfm's are a huge difference. What I'm saying is: If he buys the ETP 265's and has an LS6 intake and a stock TB and a small cam, he will be wasting his cash. ON the other hand if he buys the AFR 225's and has all the other good stuff, the heads will be a joke for his engine and will choke the engine big time. Cubic inches matters too. So there's alot of other info needed to make an informed proper decision.

Like the others said, ETP and AFR are the tops out there if money is no object, although im also interested in the new patriot predator casting. Call teh sponsors and talk to them about your current and planned mods, as well as your goals, theyll set you straight.

I am also interested in the Predator cast as well. I think it will be a stout competitor in the head game.

Yeah, the Predator heads look really interesting for the assembled price and small port volumes. I can't wait to see some results. Last word (a few days ago) they were still dialing in the CNC programs. The combustion chambers look familiar, huh? I wish the pictures available were bigger.

I was checking out the Warhawk site today, and only saw the short block 427 listed. Anyone have a clue how close they are to selling the heads?

With so many possible bore/stroke, car/truck combinations now available, it would help to know what bore/stroke combination you want heads to fit. Also include some possible camshaft possibilities you're considering. It would also help to know your rpm operating range and intake setup.

I need to give you guys a lil more info. I'm building the car for street/strip. As of right now, the car has a large comp cam, (i mentioned i can't find the specs for my cam), SLP air lid, Dynatech LT headers (no cats) into 3" custom Y-pipe with Magnaflows, 3200 Yanko, trans has been rebuilt/reinforced, Moser 9" with truetrac and 4.11 motive (being installed as we speak), SLP- STB, SFC and DSL, BMR- TA and LCAs. After my rearend is done, i plan on doing several mods at once. Heads and most likely new cam, FAST LSX manifold, FAST 90mm TB, 85mm MAFS, plugs, wires and a few other odds and ends.

Sounds like you want AFR or ETP, and a cam in the class of a T-Rex, F14 or RJ, TRak, or MS3 cams. You got a pretty stout set up, and might only add replacing the rod bolts with your swap.

We are working on the final runner programs. These heads have been designed from scratch, including the chambers. We will have more pics and information to pass along in a few weeks.

The question about these AFRs and ETPs is, are they worth the money. Don't get me wrong i have no problem paying more for a better product, but am i gona get as much out of them as i could with Patriot heads?

Give me some links and info for these AFRs, ETPs, and Patriots. Thanks
