Default 160 degree thermostat the same as this?

At autozone the have a 160 degree thermostat for 30 bucks with the brand name Valucraft

and Hypertech 160 degree thermostat for almost 60 bucks.

Can I get by and use the valucraft and save 30 bucks in my pocket?

You can get one at O'Reillys for about $20 here. Ask for a Murray Plus #37960.

It is the same as the Hypertech as far as I can tell. Says MotoRad on the housing and made in Germany on the box. If you look down the hole in the center it is stamped 160F and 71C.

Are you certain this will work for a LS1 and how did you find out about this particular thermostat? I just wanna make sure before I purchase, because that's a pretty good deal.

I got a new thremostat chilin' in my room that came with the car (used). I dunno what temp it is. It is the whole thing...neck and stat. The stat is really wedged in there. I dunno how its possible to get it out. Is it?
