Safe RPMs on a stock bottom end with springs
I seem to be getting largely varying answers to this question, so I thought a poll would be prudent. If you've got a set of aftermarket springs (Crane Cams double springs, in my case) but a stock bottom end, what is a safe RPM to rev the car up to?

I am using the comp 921's and currently my rev limiter is set at 6800 rpms. When my next stuff goes on, and my new 921's go in I am having the rev limiter raised to 7100 rpms. LG Motorsports claims that isn't even the max at what these valve springs can handle. Good luck with your setup. Don't miss any shifts that all I can say.

I voted 7,000. I have a stock bottom end pistons rods crank but I do have ARP rod bolts. I 'm not sure if this is enough consider it no longer a stock bottom end. If the rod's bolts where stock and I had a 98-00 I would just hope my luck held outand go to 6800, and a 01-02 I would go to 6800 and feel a little safer, cause hey other people do it all the time.

The redline on a stock Z06 is 6500 i believe, 02 and up, so is it safe to say that you could go to 6800 without problems up the road on an LS1 that is newer than 2002? The rod bolts like has been said earlier were changed in 2002.

The stock rods bolts are the weak point in the bottom end. RPM is the killer in these stock bottom end setups. I figure I will spin the crap out of mine unitl it lets go. Then break out the emergency credit card and build a new motor.
