unless you need the extra octane dont bother

Nah! no KR just starting a thread to get something different going. I was curious as to see if the car would perk up a bit with it but on the other side with a stock comp. motor i have seen cars slow down a tad because the motor would run hotter temps. and negate the benefits of running higher octane gas.

Motors make peak HP on the brink of detonation. Adding octane will pull you further away from detonation, thus loosing power. Adding octane will make the mixture burn slower, and without tuning to run higher timing to burn it, it will not help. Always run the least amount of octane you can get away with.

Will you gain hp? only if you have knock retard taking place.
Motors that have been on race gas are nice to take apart, they smell good and everything is cleaner. However, I have seen cars slow down on race fuel because they lacked the compression. High octane fuel will not hurt o2's, leaded fuel will ruin them quick.
11:1 347, unless your cam is tiny I would save the money, unleaded race fuel is expensive.
It would be worth the money with a big dose of nitrous or a motor that makes a lot of horsepower in a hot climate. High horsepower motors break things when they detonate.
Like Beast96Z mentioned, Your best horsepower is when your on the ragged edge of detonation.

A buddy smoked his o2`s in aa `97 LT-1 with VP 102 leadded gas,so beware. Usually you need more than 91 when you have 1- hi compression, 2- lots of timing, 3-injection NOS For stock or a tic above you usually don`t see enought to justify the cost of it. The same buddy crushed a piston on 150 shot of NOS wile running 91 octane in his `01 WS-6, so BEWARE, that is all I can say and stress.
