If its an slp block I think you have to use a differnt seal. I bought one from auto zone and advance two totaly differnt seals just call brian to see.

The rear main seal is one of those things that just keeps leaking.

Did you use sealant on your fly wheel bolts?
Sometimes they will leak oil around them and look like a seal leaking.

The Gen III rear main seal was supposed to have ended rear main seal leaks. The rear engine cover uses, I believe, a compression carrier type gasket, which is a one-time-use-only item, so I hope you replaced it with a new one. If you did, the only thing I can think of, is that, somehow, while installing the new rear main seal, it's seating surface got nicked or possibly bent/warped? Also, alignment between the rear cover, and the back of the oil pan is critical...if I remember correctly, the ideal alignment is dead-even with each other, but there is a .020" tolerance to play with. GM sells a specialty tool for aligning the rear engine cover/oil pan with each other. BTW, the oil pan gasket IS a compression carrier type gasket, and, as such, is also a one-time-use-only item...just like the torque-to-yield fasteners.

When I did my GEN III stroker build, I replaced EVERY gasket, whether it was a compression carrier type, or not. With the $$$ I put into the build, I wasn't about to cheap out on gaskets. I haven't leaked a drop of anything, from anywhere.

I've always heard to install the seal dry. I did and have no leaks. Did you use an installation tool to make sure it didn't fold up when you put it on? For alignment I had the oil pan in place to make sure it was centered when I tightened the rear cover bolts.

i tried to use the tool that came with the seal when i did mine but it was to small so i took a role of masking tape and unraped enough tape until it was the right size...worked great hahaha
