Mine doesn't have the switch but when I turn on the key there is a light on the dash for the traction control that lights up before you start it.

Yea, it is an option, the original owner of my SS didn't want it so I don't have the button. If you don't have the button I am assuming you don't have tc.

The way you can tell if you have it , Is to look on the back side of the rear brakes behind the tire and see if there is a wire plugging into a sensor there is a reluctor ring that is pressed on the axle in front of the axle seal ,that were it reads if the tires slips or brakes loose , That is called 4 channel ABS or Traction Control, if you don't it , you have 2 channel ABS with out traction control.

if you have a traction control switch to turn it on or off in front of your shifter, then you have it, if that button isn't there, then you don't have tc

If you don't have that, you don't have traction control.

My '00 WS6 does NOT have Traction Control. Don't need it anyways, I use the clutch.

if you have it you WILL know it. It pushes your foot off the gas when the tires loose traction, and there will be a switch on the dash as well as that motor under the hood with all the cables going to it. You can't miss any of it.

Default Traction Control

I have a 01 WS6 with M6, no switch of course, light on the dash at startup. I have seen the light come on once or twice in the 8 years of driving it, only came on when driving on snow or ice just driving normal, caught my attention and I was like...never seen that light come on before lol. Not a GM expert but I assume it sees slip in the rear thats light enough that the dif doesnt catch it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but yes, I've seen the light come on during driving.
