** Too late for an old car? **
I have a 99' Trans Am w/97,000 miles on the clock. It has a few boltons, pulley, catback, induction, t-stat, S3 throttle body, PRO 5.0 shifter, LS6 clutch w/updated hydrolics, 3.73 gears with T/A rear cover, Harlan Shift Light and BMR: STB, LCA's, and PHR. Car runs great, no problems.
I used this car for my daily driver for years and added parts when I could afford it. It is no longer my daily driver and is only driven on nice weather days. I would really like to go ahead and turn the corner with this car and put some headers, intake, and cam in, but the mileage has me worried.
Should I keep this car and build up the old, or start from scratch again with another low mileage car. For once in my life I actually have some cash to throw at this car but I don't know if the car is up to it. All advice is appreciated!

Your good. I put my 4th cam in at 90k. Car still has several miles ahead of it. I would look at the valvetrain upgrades and possibly heads as well. Oil pump, timing set, lifters...ect. It will run like new even after all this. Rotating assembly should hold that power at 130k no problem. Maybe rod bolts could be in order as well.

I have wound up hating myself for every Camaro I have ever sold. If you think you can just jump in another ride and be happy your wrong. And you will always wonder If this bitch runs this good stock what would she have run like If I would have ? Not to be negative but I hate to see someone kick their selfs in the *** later..... is any rehab facilitys open yet for gearheads?

I'm doing a cam swap (G5X3) on my 95,000 mile car soon. I'll be putting in dual valvesprings, pushrods, ls2 timing chain, and a ported oil pump. Is there anything else I need to replace on a high mileage engine? I am not doing heads so I do not want to change the lifters. Is it necessary to change the lifters?
