How well does a TR224/PRC Head combo Work?
Does anyone have any dyno numbers or quarter mile times with them? Before/after numbers etc? The PRC's seem to be really popular and really cheap. Also, was wondering how they affect daily driving and idle. Are there any heads out there that are significantly better w/this cam?

Heads will make a cam seem much more "friendly" to drive than before, due to adding compression (read: torque) and typically having much better flow in the midrange. It will not effect the idle in a negative way at all.

I think the PRC 5.3l head would work great with that combo! At near 220cc runner & a chamber size from 62cc to about 58cc that thing should pickup about 45-50rwhp!
They flow
.300 206
.400 256
.500 291
.600 311
I think you'll find they work really well!! We had a 228cam car with these heads make 430rwhp through cats & stock vette mufflers!

FWIW, I have a TR224 on 114 with Patriot Performance 243 heads and I put down 401hp/392tq to the ground on a Mustang dyno. I have a pulley, but an LS1 intake, cats and stock Throttle Body. You could probably expect very similiar results. The tune helps a lot too by the way. Make sure to find a good tuner.

Check out my sig. Those times are will 411s gear were i was running out of gear at the end of the track. With some 373 i could have been mid 11s on motor and mid 10s on spray. Great combo especially for a daily driver.

I think you'll find the PRC heads out perform the competition by a pretty healthy margin. When you get some extra time just look through the dyno section. I think you'll find PRC heads provide bigger horsepower & more consistant results compared to similar priced cylinder heads...

I have personally never ran a PRC head. I have ran several different sets of Patriot heads (on my personal car now), and have always had good results with them. One particular car I have done was a 224/patriot 2.5 ls1 head with 59cc chambers. This car is absolutely amazing with its all around power and driveability. Haven't got it to the track yet, but dynoed at 428 to the wheels through a full catback (also m6) on a baseline tune. I have since put the car in speed density, and have added several other items. I'm not sure if the patriots outperform the PRC's, but they are similiar heads that run a couple hundred dollars cheaper per set.
