Default Truck/Car balancer.

Just wondering if the F-body's and the silverados use the same balancer. I am building a 408 for my truck and have a keyed callies cranksaft snout. Just trying to find a keyed harmonic balancer that will work on the truck or any option that will work. PM me please. Thank you

Well the balancer will work on both vehicles. I have put the ASP pulley on LQ4s many times. They are slip fit style pulleys, like a power steering pump pulley. No key required like older SBCs.

The spacing for the accessories is different. The car setups have the belts closer to the engine, the trucks have them further away. If you run a car pulley you'll have to run car accessories.

... and of course no one makes an U/D pulley for trucks, huh? Well, there went my idea of using an U/D pulley on my 1500HD.

Do I have to get my stock balancer keyed then?

Just look for 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 instead of LS1

thunder550, I wasn't aware of that! I guess I need to check into the truck forums for update on truck parts. Now all we need is an EWP.

gen3performance, why did you get a keyed crankshaft, is this an LSx setup? Can you modify the key to clearance the pulley?

I think there's been some talk of trying to get the Meziere EWP to work on them

I didn't really read the threads, but it should give you a starting point. Come on over to the truck forum!!
