How much Horsepower will slp longtube headers give Me?

Bolt On cars can range anywhere from 10-25 hp gains seem to be the most common gains If you do heads and cam you will see more gains with them.

any longtube should give you about the same i used FLP's however and i went from 320rwhp and 332 rwtq to 337rwhp and 354rwtq <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0"> thats 17HP and 22tq on a bolton car <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

with Catback and intake alone, my car did 316rwhp and 331rwtq, with the SLP LT and MAFT to fine tune the car on top of those mods, it put down 342.3 rwhp and 353.4 rwtq with 3~4 degree of Knock Retard, those are SAE corrected numbers, I have 8K miles on the SLP LT and they still look like the same day I bought them.

My friend Al (RPM Z28 on this board) went from 13.46 @105.10 to a 12.90 @110.72 (almost the same 60 foots too) adding only SLP LTs (no cats). His car’s only power mods were the LTs, LM catback, SLP lid, and MAF ends.

Granted, it the runs weren’t on the same day, but the weather wasn’t all that different. SLPs are good headers...

I think I've even seen SLP's internet site say this too. But they did not say rwhp.

two things:

#1, you folks are talking about the delta in peak hp. A set of headers can get you "40 hp", but the gain may not be at the peak HP. Longtube headers do things more for your midrange than for the top end.

#2, If you have a car that has a moderately aggressive cam in it, and you swap out the factory manifolds and Y pipe for a set of long tube headers, you very well could get 40hp. A cam is a mod that only really does its thing with headers, adn headers only really show their true worth after a cam. I think you will find that the cars on SLPs site were with a camshaft upgrade.

Its all the game of advertising and perspective.

I’m gonna see how far I can push the stock ’00 and up manifolds. I’m going to run an off-road Y with a good flowing catback and see how far I can get with that plus a B1 cam and stock heads. I also have an extra set of ’00 manifolds that I might try some home porting and polishing with in the mean time, just to see if there are any gains to be had. Down the line I’ll do some LTs.

With Air lid and SLP headers my TA dynoed 326HP. Figure 25+ HP and the best fit and finish I have seen.
